Faculty of Medicine
Will you support the top medical professionals of the future? Help us equip the brightest medical minds and remove barriers to a world-class education
Imperial leads the world in the study of medicine. Our Faculty of Medicine provides students with an internationally-renowned education in medicine and health sciences. Thanks to the kind support of our alumni and friends, our students have access to the latest technologies and information, and work alongside colleagues making ground-breaking discoveries that advance medical science. This enables our graduates to enter their chosen professions as some of the best-trained graduates in the world.
The Dean’s Fund: supporting the next generation of medics
The Dean’s Fund for the Faculty of Medicine aims to ensure that the next generation of clinicians and scientists are able to pursue their education in as many different environments, contexts and disciplines as possible. In 2016-17, with your help, the Dean’s Fund can continue to ensure that access to this world-renowned teaching programme is available to all the best and brightest students, irrespective of their social background or financial means.
A small gift goes a long way
This year, the Fund provided bursaries to 13 fifth and sixth year medical students, for whom the intensity of coursework and the amount of time spent studying make working part-time very difficult. For these students, the additional £750-£1500 has meant the difference between graduating well-equipped to pursue their chosen career, and taking on loans or struggling to make ends meet. We are very grateful for the gifts that have made this possible.
You can make a difference
With your gift of any size today, you have the chance to transform medical education at Imperial. Your gift could:
- Provide scholarships to our most academically able students to allow them to develop their knowledge and skills.
- Invest in new and upgraded facilities for Imperial medical students to advance their knowledge.
- Support students whose studies are jeopardised by unexpected financial hardship.
- Provide ‘seed’ funding for experimental research projects.
- Offer travel bursaries to help with the costs of field trips, attending conferences, undertaking research abroad, and participating in overseas exchange programmes.
Please make a gift today to ensure that current and future generations of Imperial medics are able to gain the best possible education and experience in medicine during their time at Imperial.
Together, 226 donors generously gave £43,254 to the Faculty of Medicine Dean's Fund last financial year. Thank you.
