Support in your department
Each department has a network in place to support your academic and personal development throughout your time here.
- your course director (taught postgraduate students) or academic supervisor (research postgraduate students) who is your primary point of guidance and support throughout your time here
- a personal tutor (for Master’s students on larger courses) and members of your research group in the case of research students
- a dedicated Postgraduate Tutor and Director of Postgraduate Studies, who are responsible for the overall smooth running of your department’s postgraduate teaching and research
- College tutors, who can provide confidential support to all students, independent of your academic department. You can contact them to discuss academic issues and all aspects of pastoral care and discipline within the College.
If your tutors cannot help, or you feel uncomfortable talking to them about certain issues, then they will be able to suggest whom you might talk to.
